TN-IPA to organise National Convention of IPA on Feb 10 and 11 in Chennai

Delivering two inspirational days of business-cum-interaction to pharmaceutical manufacturers, and education and knowledge to regulators, academics and students of pharmacy, the Tamil Nadu chapter of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (TN IPA) is organizing the ‘National Convention of IPA-2017-18’ in Chennai on February 10 and 11.

The event will attract over 10,000 people from India and abroad. More than 1,000 elite delegates from industry, regulatory departments, academic institutions and research centers will take part in the scientific programmes which include panel discussions and seminars, said J Jayaseelan, chief coordinator of the national convention.

According to him, this is the 8th National Convention of the IPA and Chennai is hosting it for the second time. The national convention of IPA was started in the year 2010 in Chennai itself.

While briefing Pharmabiz about the impending event, Jayaseelan said, after IPC conventions, IPA National Convention is the biggest pharma event in India organized by a pharmaceutical association. The theme of this year’s convention is, ‘Pharma Vision-2030 – Planning the future’.

 “This year the event will be a major milestone for Tamil Nadu pharma sector as we are organizing it for the second time in Chennai. The focus of the program is for the future growth of the entire pharma sector in the country.  The event will have participation from all the state branches of IPA in the country”, he said.

The venue of this year’s convention is at Crescent Institute of Science & Technology at Vandalur in Chennai. An eight-member team of a local organizing committee (LoC) was formed for conducting the mega event.

The scientific programmes include panel discussions on R&D manufacturing, regulatory harmonization, medical device, pharmacy practice, pharmacy education, functions of community pharmacies, pharmacovigilance and food & nutrition.
